My journey in education began in 1999 as a parent volunteer in the classroom. With encouragement from my school principal, I went back to school to pursue teaching full-time—working as a substitute and classroom aide before taking on my own general education classroom (grades 4–8) in 2008 and later transitioning to middle school math. Over the years, my career evolved from classroom teacher to Math Interventionist in 2018, Instructional Math Coach in 2020, and into school administration in 2025.

Throughout more than two decades in schools, my greatest joy has always been teaching mathematics—especially working directly with students who need targeted intervention. Math shouldn't be about memorizing rules in isolation; it should make sense. My approach centers on interactive, hands-on learning, developing strong problem-solving skills, and identifying the exact conceptual “sticking point” holding a student back. Once we unlock that roadblock together, genuine confidence and skill mastery follow naturally.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, I earned my undergraduate degree in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University, my teaching credentials from Rio Salado College, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. After 30 wonderful years living in Arizona, my family and I now call Georgia home. Outside of tutoring, I love spending time with my husband, our three children, our dog Gigi, and our beloved one-eyed cat, Mikey. You’ll often find me relaxing on the deck, working in the garden, exploring new hiking trails, or planning our next travel adventure.

I am so excited to partner with you and your family—let’s dive in, tackle those roadblocks, and make math a subject your student feels confident and proud to master!

I have been a teacher for over 25 years and am currently Georgia-certified for grades 1-8 in all subjects. I am a passionate English Language Arts, Social Studies and Test-Taking Skills tutor with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Tennessee and Education Certification from the University of Central Arkansas.

My teaching style focuses on breaking down complex concepts into simple, digestible steps while building genuine problem-solving confidence. I don't just help with homework; I teach students how to think critically so they can master the material long after our session ends.

Outside of tutoring, I love traveling, reading, and cooking. I look forward to helping your child feel and be confident and successful.
